    baderlfc's 330ci sport project thread

Ok so I haven't actually got the car yet but it's being picked up Sunday and I'm so excited that I already find myself in work making lists of things I want to do

Now despite being a long time BF user I haven't had much to do with this forum simply because I haven't had a BM for the last few months..

However even on BF I never started a project on either of my Compacts to track progress on them.. and both were modified and had a few spent between them!

As it stands I've got the following to do list on the car i've yet to pick up:

-Disable Exhaust valve (if not stuck or already done)

-LED sidelight upgrade (need to find the best quality OEM look LEDs)

-CDV delete (if it hasn't already been removed)

-lowering (just on springs, torn between KW, Eibach Pros and H&R)

-assess condition of suspension bushes and upgrade to Powerflex where necessary (I know powerflex gets mixed reviews but I've always been impressed with the handling improvements)

Any cheap mods worth doing that I've missed?

Also I'll flood this project with lovely pictures starting sunday.. watch this space

Can only think of the usual suspects Mike, Angel Eyes, silvertech bulbs, strut brace & maybe performance air filter?

Eibach pros are same height as standard m-sport. Think you want sportlines?

Yes, pipercross panel filter is a good one.

Don't think the strut will make that much of a difference? Did it for yours Simon?

Never been a fan of angel eyes.. the car's got standard bi-xenon's so I'll just upgrade the sidelights to LEDs to make them look more modern.

Silvertech indicator/side repeater bulbs are already on my ebay watch list

Strut brace? Is it really worth it? Never been totally convinced but have never actually added one so can't comment fairly.

And I didn't realise Eibach Pro's were same as Standard M Sport, if that's the case I'll probably go KW with 40/30 drop.

I've heard the airbox/exhaust are pretty much perfect on the 330's so wasn't really thinking of air filter or exhaust upgrades?

You're right on the airbox. That's why you'll be changing the panel filter. It's an upgrade from OEM and can be washed and reused.

Eibach sportlines are great. I have hem on mine. Lower than m-sport.

Of course, you can tell I'm out of practice with BMs lol... I had a green panel filter in my 325ti

These LEDs claim to fit facelift E46 coupe.. Super Bright Xenon White Sidelight LED Bulbs Replacement 501 W5W T10 Canbus Car | eBay

Infact there's numerous options showing on eBay if you search "LED BMW E46 sidelights".. is there a reason why they won't fit? Obviously I can't look at the standard sidelight bulbs at the moment to see what they look like

If they're a 501 bulb, check these out: 501/194/T10 Anti Bulb Warning Xenon White Wide Angle 30 Leds by Ultra Leds U.K

I've used UltraLEDs bulbs in several different cars, and they work a lot better than a lot of others, they don't wear out and start strobing or anything like that, and the colour's good too.

    Hmmm...

    1. Got myself mixed up. I do have LEDs. You can't get SMOKED led fender indicators. They have to be painted.

    2. We're actually talking about different sidelights. I thought you were calling the fender indicators "sidelights" because you already mentioned silvertechs for the actual sidelights. Imagined you couldn't fit both led and silvertech sidelights.

    Ignore me

Sorry Johann talking about 2 seperate things..

LED replacements for the side lights (headlights).

Silvertech bulbs to replace the standard orange side repeaters (501s) and front indicators (PY21s?)

Thanks ABM, they look the business... No errors or warnings about blown bulbs with them? Nice and easy to fit? just standard replacement I assume...?
