Thread: 1996 328I SE Saloon

Some of you may remember me from the "other side" a few years ago i had an e36 325i, that got sold due to increasing fuel costs and a 40 mile round trip to work and had an unfortunate break from BM's until christmas last year when i bought a 1992 320I with full genuine M3 kit and a 2.5 lump for the wife to use daily and me at the weekends . Unfortunately the other week i discovered the diff has torn the floor and the inner sills are mainly rust so decided it was better scrapped as it didn't owe me much! A little bit of searching later and i won this 328 on a well known auction site at the weekend, collection should hopefully be this coming weekend so for now shamless use of the advert pictures will have to do for now!!

Immediate plans are:
M50 inlet manifold from the 325I
Full M3 kit also from the 325I
Hella angel eye headlights again from the 325I (I hate them but the wife loves them and she does use it as a daily )
E46 7Spokes again currently on the 325I

From there hopefully just enjoy it for a while

Small update.... Got a phone call yesterday, his good friend and owner of the garage he uses was beaten up at the weekend and cannot get the car mot'd for a while so has offered to knock the price of the parts off, mot fee and some petrol money if i have it as is with his failure. Given i've got the parts to fix it i've accepted so almost definitely will be collecting on Sunday, it's still mot'd and taxed until the 31st so perfectly legal for now

To be honest i'm really quite looking forward to getting it even if it will be the wife using it the most

Right, it's home!! Sorry for the lack of pictures will get some up tomorrow! Picking it up went fine, had the usual eBay lies - "yeah it's taxed till the end of August" - ran out end of july! "the mot runs out at the end of the month, so plenty of time to get it done" - runs out a week today!! Other than that, i'm really pleased with it, it's soooo much faster than the 2.5 and my previous 2.5, much nicer to drive even though it's only a few inches from the floor and even managed 40mpg on the way home and i wasn't hanging around!! I was even more pleased when I pressed the a/c button and it worked The first car out of about 10 that actually has working a/c

Hopefully i'll get the wheels on tonight as long as they don't rub and will get some fresh pictures!!

Cheers It shouldnt be too bad as the guy i bought it from had taken it last week and gave me the failure hence me getting a discount!! It was only 3 tyres which he's done, bottom ball joint and a bush/joint at the back which he supplied and i'll whip the bottom arm off the other one so hopefully my mot guy will then pass it

Yeah, it seems in pretty good nick so far, didn't get a chance to play with wheels and the camera last night - the wife took me out for a carvery Probably won't get a chance until the weekend now they are coming
