scrap yard 328i touring saved from near death and going back to being loved again

    hello all.
got myself a bmw e36 328i touring auto in bosten green.
story was it was moments away from being killed and becoming a can in your local shop

i got the car cheap didnt even look at it for longer than 1min or start it as it was do or die for the poor thing.
the plan to "try" and make it nice again and i can use it for work for all the room, its my first ever auto aswell as fancied being lazy and it was luck!

ok its not been washed or polished for years and was under a tree for 6months so body was ruff.
so ruff i could light a match of it.

as soon as i got it home i looked around it, found it was serviced 6-10k at a time without fail.
    done 125k
found paper work had new wishbones, maf pipe and normal common faults fixed in the last 17k/ 3 years.

i was shocked that it even has a cd player and a 18 button OBC!! im happy as its the first bmw e36 ive had with a obc
heated washer jets and headlight sprays and drivers and pas airbag, front fogs and other bits.

    after a wash

anyway the locking wheel nut key was missing GREAT..... easy job wack job done.

so started her up and sweet as a nut abit mucky but meh easy job

the body work is your normal N-reg e36 so scabby and needs loved.
so gave it a clay bar to see if the old girl liked it and it liked it that much it almost ate the clay.
    then rewashed.... THEN rains......

    the inside

it stopped raining so henry came out to get sucking also the front seats got pulled out and swapped for sport seats

    50/50

with a good clean it looks better on the inside.

then i had the idear to test fit the mv1 18s and fit the lowering springs and shocks........

couldnt undo the bolts for the bottom of the shock and snapped my ratchet so i fitted the mv1

then had the fantastic idear to fit the stagged rear one on. soooo jack it up and notice a funny sound oohhh beep the jacking point on the sill was weak and split open!

after poking around i made a hole and poked rust out (like a bad porn eh) is about the size of a erm half a hand so i need to try and fix that also after more hard poking found a weak sill.......

by now i was about done with the car and was ready to try and get the engine out for the compact

then a mate said oi i can weld that maybe so now its a waiting game!

also needs a new cat and bits and bobs see video aways looks blue!!!?!?!

    video-2012-08-25-18-40-03.mp4 - YouTube

got my work cut out on this one so
any cheap bits mtec bumpers etc etc i will be interested also facelift nose ....... low and cool is the plan but oem fresh.........

comment and tips welcome also after alot of rain found a leak but duno where from see video cheers and will update soon

Great find and after seeing how well the vert turned out I've no doubt that this is gonna turn out pretty damn good too.
As a fellow Touring owner I'll def be keeping an eye on this.

Kev good to see you saved a car specially a touring, which jacking point that went mine went on the passenger side rear, the jack point is only welded to the bottom of the outer sill had to weld a computer side case to fix it quick lol

Will keep any eye what you do with this
