2.8 M52 engine around 90k miles, with 325 intake manifold.

Anything else I need to get it upto BDC spec for 2013.
In Dec 2010 I registered to do the Open Drift Championship with rounds at Buxton, this would be a 300 mile round trip for me, but atm was the closest drift venue. Then late Dec 2010, Teesside announced they are to do drift days after a 3 year break. So choice was do ODC rounds at Buxton with expense of a 300 mile round trip, or do practice days at Teesside which is a 70 mile round trip. A mate wanted to do Teesside aswell, so I choose to do that. I hope in 2012 ODC rounds will be held at Teesside.
As I got it in 2009:-
Soon changed the wheels to 18" MV2 Alloys:-
Then added Front and Rear Strut Braces, and Cross Brace. Also bought M3 LSD, Coilovers and had some drifty fun at Santa Pod.
In Jan 2011, I changed the M3 LSD for a Welded 328 Diff, as I wanted to do drift days more regular. This made the car a track/drift car only, rarely to be used on the road. Also added a Hydraulic Handbrake.
Teesside Drifting 7 Feb 2011-
It now needs a rear subframe swap, as I have now sheared the subframe. Then going to Poly Bush the new subframe.
Subframe now dropped from by spare 328, and Poly Pushes now done. Also Welded up a 325 Diff, as it has a better ratio than the current 328 Diff. So shouldn't get bogged down as much in slower corners.
Being prepped for painting-
Installed the M50 325 intake Manifold, awesome differene to the car.
Painting finished, Matt Black
14th March - done another Teesside drift day-
Cobra Monaco bucket seats fitted, and OMP steering wheel.
Car now de-catted, I had originally planned to cut cats off and remove all piping from them to the rear. Then join 2 lengths of 50mm ID tubing to the downpipe and just have it straight out the rear with no cats or silencers. The sound was deafening, I would have been arrested, so standard backbox had to go back on. Also added 25mm front wheel spacers, 7.5mm front camber spacers, 4 point harnesses and bonnet scoop for cold air.
Front hubs modified-
Lock with 195/50/15 tyres with standard wheels.
13th June another Teesside drift day
Had the car on a rolling road
It made 217 bhp, 192 bhp standard.
It had a blowing exhaust, and a split in the intake boot which was taped up.
325 Intake Manifold
Cone Air Filter
Air Con delete inc pump
Viscous Fan removed, Electric fan conversion
Was told it would be a fair bit more if exhaust was sorted, as AFR was out.
AFR goes down, then at 2.7k revs goes back up with a dip in torque, then comes back down again at 3.6k revs.
Trip to the dealers for new intake boot, and then sorted the blowing exhaust.
After having a few issues with temps, going to 105c on the last drift day, I reversed the polarity on the ebay 16" fan I used to replace the viscous with. This meant the A/C fan was blowing inwards towards the radiator, 16" fan was then sucking the hot air and blowing it towards the engine and out the top of the bonnet. Went to Teesside drift day, the temps were excellent. Never went above 80c, so by just reversing 1 fan and not having them fight each other has made a 25c difference.
Backbox exhaust hangers snapped, so backbox was held up with rope for most of the day. I never liked the sound it made, decat and standard backbox, so just bought twin cherry bombs for it.
Cherry Bombs now fitted, and sound much better, love it.

3rd Jan 2012
Just had another drift day at Teesside on New Years Eve. Testing out the new 320 diff, driveshafts and propshaft conversion.
Shame it wasn't a dry day, track was really greasy, so hard to tell what the diff is gonna be like, its certainly feels more responsive.
Had a couple of "offs" aswell, dented rear quarter after hitting 1 of them tonne bags you get from B&Q filled with kart tyres.
I was also noise tested, it read 106.3db at 3.5k revs. lol
Here is a video by 1 of the Marshalls there.
I think I'm being called a d!ck here, went off at 75mph
Dent in rear quarter
It pushed out ok, looks as good as new, just needs bumper cable tied back on.
Hoping to get E46 front bottom arms on soon, and get even more lock.
21st March 2012
Just done another day drifting at Teesside on the 19th March.
A few days earlier I installed a fire extinguisher.
Here is a video, showing a few laps of west track, and about 4 on national.
Another video a mate made.
A few pics:-
29th March 2012
I done the first round of the Northern Drift Championship at Teesside 24th-25th March. Sat practice on West Track went well, linking it consistantly, but only 45 mins practice on National and 3 hrs on Sun before qualifying and competition. Had a bit of trouble linking national track in 3rd, I just couldn't get the downshift to 2nd right, or the upshift from 2nd to 3rd and often straightened up during the gear change. So I decided to just keep it in 2nd only, gay I know, but normally link it well 95% of the time in 2nd. Semi Pro and Novice groups were split after qualifying, which meant I had qualified top for Novice. Managed 2nd place in Novice, losing to an e30 v8 in the final. Happy with that, but my runs were pretty shit tbh, should of just took the chance with 3rd and lost points for straightening.
Had a few issues with tyre catching the chassis on full lock, so car is back at A.B. Motors for some changes. Got some e46 wishbones coming, so will see if the extra 25mm over the e36 wishbones help with added clearance, if not will double up the spacers to 50mm. Also gonna put the 4mm rackspacers back in, so should have more lock for round 2 in May.
A few pics from NDC rd 1.
Shame I had to do a 360 spin to get this much smoke. lol
Bust a wheel on the curb as well. This is now weighed in, got £7 for it.
Even tho I was in 2nd gear, I still managed 2 decent qualifying laps and got points of 64 and 51, total 115 making me top qualifying in Novice class.
Managed a run of 70 in Semi finals, with 50 and 53 in the finals for my 2nd place, beaten by 10 points.
Roll on NDC round 2, were I will get to grips with gear changes. Looking into Z3 quick shifters atm.
29th March 2012
Spec: Modded e36 Hubs 20mm shorter, 4mm Rack Spacers, 25mm Spacers, E46 Wishbones, 7.5mm Camber, wheel 17x8J ET 38 with 205/40/17 Tyres. No rubbing or other issues that I can see, got plenty room between wheel and wishbone.
Just waiting on e46 60mm poly bushes coming now to fit e36 lollipops, the e36 rear bush was butchered to temp fit the e46 wishbones.
5th April 2012
I have now fitted e46 wishbones, with e46 wishbone 60mm bushes, also put in 4mm rack spacers. So lock mods are:- Modded Hubs 20mm shorter, 4mm rack spacers, 25mm wheel spacers, 7.5mm of washers for more camber, e46 wishbones. It needs an alignment, but sits like this atm. I have about 5mm gap between wheel and wishbone. When its jacked up, wheel hits the wishbone on full lock. Pikey measured the lock today, and its about 58 degrees.
Currently it does not have the front ARB connected, gonna have to modify it to fit, thats if it fits with the lock I got now.
Alpina front splitter will be fitted to my bumper, and the car is now being prepared for its new paint scheme ready for NDC RD 2 in May.
