    ToiletDuck's 1996 E36 328i Sport

    Hi Hi,

My "real" name is Steve, Ive only really been into BMW's for just around a year and a half(this being my second) Before this I had an E46 323 Coupe which I did a little too(will probably crop up quite a bit in the pictures too as my mate now owns it!)

A quick rundown of my 36 thou:

The Car is a 1996 Montreal Blue 328Is.
I travelled from B'ham all the way to the edge of Kent(the water side lol) to get her even thou Originally I didn't want anything bigger then a 2.5!! (Moment of madness and all that!)
She has 143k on the clock now  140k when I bought her.
    "Dove" Grey and Cream Interior
Huge Bus Steering Wheel <--- THIS needs to go lol
    Basically she was 100% Original

Few pics from when I got her:

On the Trip Back Home with my old/my mates E46

Got her home and took lots of pics

She stayed like this for a while, but the height and poor condition of the wheels was really starting to bug me. It had also become apparent (since the drive home really) that something was amiss with the steering, every camber, rut, imperfection in the road and she would pull left or right very aggressively!

I decided after having a look and finding every part to be factory original to replace:

    Lower Arms + Lolly Pop's
    Track Rod Ends
    ARB Drop Links

With this done, it was better but still awful to drive to be honest!

I also fitted some Ebay Jobbie coil overs

Also Lamin-x'd my side lights and fogs(fogs not done in this pic but we all know what they look like)

Being on a roll I attempted to repair the pixels in my OBC as no one should have to leave for work at this time!

BUT as it just so happens I was forced off the road on the way to work on a cold Thursday morning the week I had replaced all these parts and did this to 1 of my rims!

    B*llcks!!!

So I spent the day(and much of the next 4 days) Mopeing about being a general big kid about the whole situation then a guy at work put me onto a wheel refurbishing company that polish the AC'S's on his X5!! I took the wheel down at around 4.30pm on the Tuesday and by 1pm on Wednesday they had phoned me to tell me it was ready for collection!!

I was now happier then a Pig in... well you know what

While the wheel was off I managed to borrow a set of rather boring 16" BMW alloys off my old 46 to roll on till I had sorted the wheel out, I begged my mate to loan me them for longer as with the wheels off, the cogs started turning and I decided to Split them and refurb them myself

Cue a randomly dry and mildly warm late October Saturday, a willing friend and some carpet!!!

    Hmmm??

Cue the Sunday, BTCC, Sanding and Painting

I then had a childish "I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER!!!" moment last weekend and wanted the wheels back together and on the car again

    Cleaned up these mankey bolts!

    Reinstalled Centres and bolts

Then found this in my Borrowed nasty alloys

Having done this, realising I HATED the lips being a total mess, so I re-split them and Ive been buying bits and bobs for a Black interior, As much as I love how "retro 90's exec" the Grey/Cream/Black combo is, I feel Black is just a little classier (I now own 2 Arm rest centre consoles*one black/one grey* and 2 non arm rest consoles in the same guise lol!!

Only took a pic of the door cards, so here it is lol

Also Mainly(when finding the time) I have been attacking my RC Lips they were in an awful state the lacquer had bit the dust big time, scuffing around most of them etc etc

    Sanded

    Half Polish/Half Not

    1 Down

    Quick Perv :p

    Comparison

    Fully Rebuilt

    X4

and this bring me up to the wrong time of year to be buying new tyres lol!

    ToDo List(in no particular order):

Find the source of my annoying turning left knock!
    Buy and replace RTAB's
    Buy Tyres [DONE]
    Lower more
    Buy and Fit Evo Lip
    18 Button OBC retrofit
    Fit Black Interior
Buy and Fit lower Grill Mesh
    Paint Kidneys Black

And what ever else comes along lol!

Thats basically where I am at now, Hope you all enjoy Comments etc welcome

    Steve.
