    Scott's E60 build

well thanks to spirit to suggesting this site firstly, now with the important stuff so i bought a e60 520d se 177bhp in November and thought i love it but quickly thought cant have it looking like every other reps car so decided it needs some subtle changes but set it away from standard so heres how i bought it (sorry about the dark pics)

    front

    side

    rear

    interior

so first thing i done was debadge the 520 badge firstly i poured boiling hot water over the badges to soften the glue the badge litraly started to move on its own

then i used some dental floss to get under the and cut the badge's off and was left with this

as the glue was still warm i could peel it off with my fingers then i used some auto glym tar remover to get any residue left off and the finished product was this

my next problem was i hate the wheels and thought i love the polished deep dish look so started a long search and ended up traveling from liverpool to the outskirts of scotland to pick up a genuine set of staggard bmw bbs style 42's as a x-mas prezzy off my g/f, there refurbed and look like new so was worth it well just needed some rubber as im not planning on any track days i got some nankang ns2's had them on a clio 182 and they was amazing for the price prefered them to the conti sports that was on when i bought it just hope they will be good on the bimmer lol well heres a sneak of them

I have NSII's on the rear of my E46, as Andy said, they are what they are! They aren't the grippiest tyre in the wet, especially on the rear, but for the price they are good!
Only annoyance I have with mine is that they have now developed an annoying droning noise, which pisses me off but I am loathed to change them as there is still so much life left in them!
Nice looking car though mate, I do like a nice 5 series! I'll keep an eye out i'm looking forward to seeing the rims fitted!

Never bullshit a bullshitter, they'll just bring you down to their level and trash you with experience!

A mate of mine recently admitted that he was a brake fluid addict! When I quizzed him about it he insisted that he could stop any time.

thanks fellas yeh the tyres are 235/40r18 on the front and 245/40r18 on the rear the wheels are 8.5j et20 front and 9.5j et24 on the rear i think memorys not too good lol but they should sit just fine on a 60 had somebody do the maths for me lol.

yeh i totaly agree on the nankangs they have plenty of grip for normal and spirited drives aslong as you dont drive like a pleb there fine but you do have to slow down in the wet, i used them on my clio 182 and they was quieter and held the road better then the contisports that was on the car when i bought it but that was a light car the e60 is fairly heavy so hope they peform aswell on it managed to get em for 70 quidish a corner from camskill. bmw size tyres are expensive i could get mitchlin sports for the same price on the clio haha

    future plans are

    exterior
lower her slightly think ill opt for springs and dampers as had coilovers in the past and think they will spoil the ride
    paint the calipers black
grooved and drilled disks and decent pads
m5 style upper and lower boot spoilers
    front lip spoiler
rear m-sport bumper and difusser (not dual the m5 bumper)
led halo rings (finding the bulbs hard to source as it is a lci)

    interior
some m-sport leather seats (but got a little one due so ill wait a while so dont get stretch marks due to baby seat etc)
door speaker upgrades and stealth boot build sub (not much bass on a e60 standard system)
maybe a dension (so i can have my ipos running through the i-drive instead of the aux in as its pants lol)

    engine
    a good scrub haha
    decent quality air filter
    full service
ECU remap (not a tuning box)
maybe a stainless exhaust system (not sure yet though)

oh got the tyres on the rims today and got my new center badges aswell
