I got her in May 2012 after selling the DC2 due to not using it. I cut about in my little brothers civic while he was in France at uni. I went to look at around 4 E46s and 2 had busted subframe mounts and the other was a dog.
This one was 103k miles, owned by a BMW tech, fBMWsh, brand new front calipers, discs and pads, lower arms, drop-links done for the mot the day before I picked it up. Only down side was the bodywork, there's a few small patches of rush and some dents on the drivers door due to the guys mrs (lol)
Overall I was happy, it was only the SE spec but it was good enough for now! First beemer, didn't want to go all out to find I didn't like it.
Spec when I got it:
1999 323Ci SE
Rare business tape player/sat nav with small screen
6 cd changer in boot
Some pics after a clean:
Didn't do much to it after that, just drove it, was nice to be in something comfy, although it's not quick its still a great drive!
Then I got bored and did some re-trimming;
I got some alacantara material off ebay and got to work on the dash panels and the gear stick surround, looks pretty good IMO and it's easier to clean than I thought!
Next I got some style 68s, I had spoken to the guy before and it wasn't until I went over to get them that I found out they were black, oh well;
I then left the car as it was again, I had some problems in between, abs sensor and all 4 wheel bearings went near enough the same time, then... one of the new ones failed too, so 5 bearings in total!
Got a set of ACS type II replicas for cheap so on they went;
The I picked up a new bootlid as the spoiler was rank on the other, however it was impossible to remove due to the rusted bolts and I didn't want a damaged bootlid, therefore I replaced it!
Shortly after I picked up a full set of amber lights, fitted them, compliments the blue nicely I think;
And that's where I am now, I have a set of M sport suspension to fit but I'm in my final few weeks of an honours degree and to be honest don't have much time for car stuff at the moment!
Thanks for looking!
