I picked this car up from blackpool on Monday and I'm very happy with it! It's the first BMW, first 6cyl, first rwd, first over 2.0.
BMW E36 328i sport
94k (non nikasil block)
8 BMW stamps, 4 independent
Completely standard apart from wheels, spare is a matching alloy
Got a vehicle specification enquiry sheet with the car that shows all the extras added.
It only had advisories on its last Mot for brake lines and rear shocks both were replaced before I bought it.
It even comes with original tool kit, first aid kit still in wrapping, safety triangle, torch in glove box.
Lots of paperwork with it too including a receipt for the car in 02 for £13k
Only problems are the windows don't work with the one touch tried greasing them today but still no luck.
I've got oil and spark plugs ready to service the car when I get the chance.
Plans for mods are just going to be keep it simple, lower it a bit.
Just changed the oil and had the car up in the air for the first time. Only surprise under the car was how clean it was!
I went all the way to my local bm dealership to get a copper washer for the sump plug today only to find one in the oil filter box, then it looked like the filter was too big :( and it was 11pm so not like I could go get another one. But I persisted and it turned out to be a tight fit.
After looking about the car the only problem I found was that part of the exhaust heat shield was hanging down not bad for a 15 year old car!
not updated this in a while mostly because i couldnt be bothered with the hassle of resizing photos but nhere it goes.
First off all i upgraded the sound system with jbl component speakers in the front running off a ground zero amp. Alpine full speed ipod head unit and jbl amp and 12" sub. Wanted 6.5" components but they were just too much hassle to fit so went with the smaller ones.
Since the wheels were in good condition Igave them a good clean including clay bar and borrowed some poorboys wheel sealant off a mate.
Ordered some FK ak coilovers as I didn't have much cash but heard they were good (enough) quality. At £190 off venom motorsport I honestly cant rate these enough. Gets the car low and the ride isnt that bad, had a mate who's into low golfs and he said the ride was great for the height it was sitting. I found it a bit bumpier than standard but not much. When I took the stock dampoers off they were yellow? a factory upgrade?
Also needed some spacers for the front as the wheels I've got aren't staggered its 2 sets of rears so 8J all round. Think there 15mm can't remember, got them from jjc rally and race
Ended up not using the adjusters on the rear as I wanted it lower than when they were maxed out. The car stayed like this for a while.
