I have a 'no longer available' track control arm which is basically a rod that connects from the subframe, through a bush and into a lower suspension arm again, through a bush. Its slightly boomeranged and should be straight. I want to know how you would straighten it? I have my own method using a vice and various thickness washers to provide pressure points to gradually release the tension but I'm doing it cold. Would lightly heating it help? I'm reluctant to use heat as it may make the rod more brittle. What are your thoughts?
