    E46 adjusting handbrake

Finally got round to servicing the father in-laws 320d on Sunday, while i was ordering parts he also tasked me with changing all discs and pads. All parts from ECP came to 215 using online discounts. So a full insp 2 service and brakes took 5 hours and was a nightmare. The disc retaining srew rounded off on one of the front disks so had to drill it out. Then i had to slacken the handbrake shoes off to get the rear discs off by winding the little cog off then wound the little cog back when i finished and i now cant seem to get the handbrake as it was. Is there a knack to doing this?
