sorry if this is in the wrong section but it falls into a few catorgories.
my problem is that my new wheels where advertised with an offset of et45 which i thought would fit fine on my e46 saloon.when i fitted the wheels and on the back he wheel would not bolt all the way on to the hub due to the hubcentric bottoming out inside the wheel so i have had too run 5mm spacers which caused a lot off rubbing at that ride hieght i have raised it up about 30mm and it will still rub coming out of roundabouts and if i have people in the back.
in this picture you can see how much clearance there is inside the wheel with the 5mm spacer fitted have tried a 3mm and i didnt feel the wheel was on all the way.
i know i can get the arches rolled but i really dont want to do that due too damage that can be caused and speeding up the arches rusting. another couple of things ive thought of but i dont think there the best things to do is have the lip machined out the wheel so it will go on enough too not use spacers from what i can see its only there too secure the centre cap and not for structural support. Another idea is removing 4mm off the hubcentric which will leave me with the same amount left if i was running the spacer but it will be bolted straight to the hub which would be safer than running the spacers.
thanks in advance
