    E92 330i BMWP exhaust fitted today

    Evening all,

    my first post here, currently a member of Bimmerforums but hoping this forum my have a different 'feeling'..

    got this fitted today and I must say it is actually quite quiet! only raspy above 4 ish k.

    a couple of photos for you (sorry if you've seen this a hundred times before)













    for some reason the valve is open all the time, any ideas why this could be?

    looks a nice exhaust and the valve might be sticking thats all or fiddled to stay open like the golf tee mod on e36 328s

    Missed that bit about the sticky valve! Probably been fiddled to stay that way as Spirit says - leave it be

    Good to see you here @BFI parks

    Is shut when idling?

    Assuming the vacuum set up is the same as the E46 it must be closed or blanked somewhere in the system, maybe the small vacuum pump shown in your pic has failed?

    cheers for the replies!!!

    the valve was closing before with the old standard exhaust... but not this one. i'll undo the plastic valve bit tomorrow and have a peek!

    no known issues with the valves then?

    It's there purely to keep the exhaust tone quieter at lower revs,
    that's why people block the vacuum pipe up and keep it open
    Google bmw golf tee mod & you'll see what I mean.
    Does sound like the new exhaust has brought this on though

    i dont mind it being open, its still quiet, i find anyway, but just curious as it should be closed... something could be amiss
