I know I've contributed to other tyre threads but I thought I'd start my own as I need 2 new rears very soon, I have the M Sport setup of 255/35/R18 on the back.
I currently run Kumho Ecsta KU39's and they are running low at less than 15,000 miles, my local tyre guy reckons that is about right for a Kumho but I was expecting a bit better so I am looking at other options but I noticed what used to be the mid range window is now nearly defunct apart from Kumho in regards to price.
I've went around 2 places today one being a guy I value his opinion a lot on and the other being someone who sells part worn tyres for £45 a tyre but sells new also.
I got some pricings below all inc fitting and VAT etc:
Wanli - £78 each - Hell no
Primewell SP910 - £82.80 each
Nexen N8000 - £114 each
Kumho KU39 - £129 each
Goodyear F1 or Dunlop Sportmaxx RT - £170 each
I have read a few good things about Nankang tyres mainly the NS2 but I would be looking at the newer NS20 pattern, has anyone got any experience of those here?
I know @jim 320d rates Uniroyal RainSport2 very highly, I didn't get pricing today but having looking online they are knocking on the door of Goodyear/Dunlop money wise.
Hankook S1 evo2 looks to be a nice tyre too but can't find a great deal about those other than Tyre reviews.co.uk
I'm not really interested in Pirelli or Conti as from experience on various cars they tend to wear fairly quick and become rather noisy.
Any thoughts appreciated.
