    Question Correct tyre pressures

I have a 2011 320d ED saloon and I've just had fitted new 16" Michelin E-Savers (205-60-16) which I'm more than happy with.

The guy fitting the tyres said he put 32psi all round in them, but the recommended pressures on the inside door plate says 2.7bar front and 2.9bar rear. That equates to about 39psi front and 42psi rear. The tyre guy seems to think that's too high, and tbh it does - even though that's what's written on the plate. Can anyone advise on this ? Are these pressures correct, or are they actually for run flats which my car may have had previously ? What's the best pressures for all round performance etc ?

There should be a minimum & maximum recommended tyre pressure shown on door plate.
It's always a personal preference but maybe start at mid way pressure & see how the car handles.
If handling appears woolly up tyre pressure by 2 psi & re test drive.
