    Cheapie tyres

Ann needs 2 tyres for her new alloys, 215 45 17

Looking on ebay at the minute, was going to go for budgets, but part worn good year dunlops etc arent too badly priced.

What are good makes of tyres? best value? where do you buy them from ?

I use top gear tyres Top Gear Tyres - Budget Tyres in Chester, Part Worn Tyres Chester for my M3...

I have Continental Sport Contacts (SC2 on the front and SC3 on the rears), like new tread at the time and £45 a corner fitted..... Excellent value for money IMO and the grip on them is far better than budgets too...

They have about 30,000 tyres in stock and will even let you choose what you want fitting if you speak nicely to them....

Cheap enough but won't last long at that depth.... And by the time you get them fitted, it's going to cost a bit.

I've bought secondhand tyres on ebay before they were Bridgestones, the set I bought were all good treadn but one was perfect one had a rip on the bead, and the other two had chunks missing on the side wall outer sides, and the seller who was a company did nothing to help or take them back, this was before paypal would reverse the transaction.
Also how do know the tryes you are buying are not from a major smashed up car !
    Buy with caution.
What size tyres do you need Mike, I got some nearly new 18" tyres in the shed, I should get around to selling them really.

At least if you go to somewhere like TGT, you have a chance to have a proper look at them for damage etc.... I would rather have a go with some decent part worn Continentals than some ditch finders..... FWIW, TGT do offer a guarantee on their products, but as ever, it is a case of buyer beware - buying off an internet site is a risk, only buying new can you be 100% sure, but buying from a decent seller with good feedback should help.
