    Nankangs for a 535

Hi I was wondering does anybody know how decent nankangs are? My spiders came with budget tires free and decided to use them as It would do for a few months well 3 months have passed and the rear tires are nearly bald. I heard the 535 is fond on chewing rear tires but 3 months? Was it just the budget tire not lasting long?

    Cheers

If you have a car that deserves it? Get a tyre that compliments the chassis! (Conti sport contact 3)

You are right to not want to throw money away but a "good" set off reputable tyres can be a worthwhile investment.

What the Hell are you subjecting them To!!?!!

A Quality tyre is expensive for a reason, they are GOOD!

You have a big car with shit loads off torque, the main thing that is stopping that combo from being a death trap is your driving abilities, the Cars Electronics (DSC, ASR and others) And of course your ability to put the power onto a road surface (as well as cornering and braking) which is tyres.

But like most things in life its a comprimise, some tyres Just Do not suit some cars (had that with e34 M5 on Dunlops which transformed it into "Certain Death"!!!!) and depending on your budget and requirements then I am sure you will find a middle ground.

    You're joking right?

Don't do it unless you don't mind being wrapped around a tree or you drive like a nanny in which case give your car to me.

    Thanks

Johann took the words right out of mouth!!!

A Tyre really depends on what you want from it... Do you want loads of grip or do you want to sacrific grip for long lasting...

As with tyres you cant have everything from just one...

Get the NS2's if you drive slow and drive like DD

What are you doing to tyres?!

OK, the 3 weighs less than the 5, but until Saturday I had a bit more power than you... I've found my car to be very gentle on tyres. Perhaps I drive like a granny? My old (FWD obviously) Octy VRS went through them twice as fast, as does fathers Leon TDI.

Just to echo the above really. Nankangs will suffice if you're skint, but if you have the choice I'd go further upmarket. The Uniroyals I have are either a low end Premium tyre or a high end Mid-range (depending on where you look) but they're well up to the job on mine.

Normal driving has killed them lol thats just driving to work and thats about it but they were made by Ironman who the f**k is ironman? but as they were free thought may as well get a bit of use out of them but hoping it was just a useless cheap tyre that wore out too quick and not the car chewing through tyres far too quickly , anyways ordered a set of michelin pilots to see how they do Just hoping they last longer than 3 months :(
