235/40/17 - Is the size to use! I know... I used the same and it does feel good... Plus the M3 GT used 235/40/17 all round... and the Normal M3 used what has been said above... because its for less oversteer... So to me Staggard means anti-drift and sqaure fitment means pro-drift...

When I had my old 318iS I had the Forged Style 24's and ran (Front) 225/40/17 & (Rear) 245/35/17 - Remember if you run staggard you need to keep your tyre sizes the same Diameter/Radius/circumference - Remember the "40" in 225/40/17 is the percetage of the size of the tyre "225" and thats the hight of the sidewall... you follow?

If your're running 235's on the back you may get issues with the ASC having a fit and flashing the light and cutting the throttle. Had this on one of mine and took me ages to work out it was the tyre size.

Really... that surprises me... and you had 235 all round then?

I had 225 on the front and 235 on the rear. It could just be my car not liking it of course but swapping the tyres sorted the problem. I'd personally go with 245 on the rear.
