I have a 2004 3 series and have to drive some very remote Yorkshire Dales roads. Before I spend money on some good quality winter tyres I want to know if they really do improve the drive of the car? I know winter tyres improve the grip of vehicles but wondered whether with the BMW and the rear wheel drive whether good road handling in snow is non existent with or without winter tyres. On all weather, I can't even get out of the drive in an inch of snow! Is it just a fact of life that beemers are no good in snow or will some winter tyres make a big difference for me? Thanks folks!
