These old school ETA BETA wheels on my E36 ti Sport? UPDATE!!

** I HAVE NOW BOUGHT THESE WHEELS BUT I NEED TO SELL THEM - LONG STORY SEE LAST POST< OFFERS WELCOME QUICK SALE NEEDED!**

    -eta-betas-jpg

Wasnt even looking for new wheels but stumbled across these babies for sale for a very reasonable price! debating whether to splash out... 17x7.5J, The make is ETA BETA, never heard of them but a quick google search tells me they're Italian & made 3-piece Porsche rims & some Lambo wheels so they should be good enough for my ti

i really like the look of them, similar to M-Parallels & liking the classy alpina style centre cap covering the lugs. AND there different & rare and I wont pull up at a set of lights next to another e36 with these on...

I wouldnt normally dream of putting aftermarket wheels on my BM as I love the clean OEM look but these look clean & OEM all day long & must be very rare, Ive never seen them before anyway.

Plus a nice lowish 35 offset for E36 wheels so a nice bit of stance compared to my Style 89's. My compact is lowered 35mm Will I have any rubbing issues on the rear arches with ET35 & 225/45 tyres?

Any other comments on the wheels?

Also I mite try & DIY refurb them, the paint finish looks the same as OEM BMW silver, can anyone confirm I'd need the same Wurth paint for these wheels for an exact match?

    Thanks in advance

I like them. should be alright on them offsets imo. Used Wurth paint on my contours, nearest to oem colour you can get and great quality paint too.

love your contours with poilished dishes - may do that with these wheels to get that m-parallel look, but prolly wont cos eventually i plan to run these in winter, cos im trying to accumulate a set of BBS style 19's... hopefully should have 2 brand new ones next week. i lost out on another single one & found these eta betas for not much more than i wouldve paid for the single style 19 so may cushion the blow with these

I would say 225/40 for less chance of rubbing... or 215/45

they do look good... DIY refurb is what I am going to do with my alloys... they dont look bad at all mild kurbing.... a nice rub down - prime - paint - lacqur - would do just nicely...

Remember PICTURES... I want to see them on!

really think 225/45 will be too tight?? bloody compacts with their small rear arches was hoping to just swap my current tyres over tbh, would prefer to get the arches rolled than shell out on new tyres & want to keep to the oem tyre spec/rr if poss...

lol if i get these just try & stop me posting pics! may try doing the spray painting / laquer em in my bedroom cos redecorating at the mo & it has no carpet & its a big old room! dont have a nice heated garage or anything. does that sound crazy??

You could instead... add more camber.... max out the washer (I have) - Swap them over and see... Try this... Online Wheel & Tyre Fitment calculator. Offset, Tyre stretch and Rolling Radius calculator Type everything in and see how much room you'll have... compared to your old alloys... Then you could/might get away with more camber...

    cheers will try that calculator.

compacts dont have adjustable rear camber as they have the e30 rear set up but when i lowered mine i had a rear camber kit welded on to the subframe with e39 adjustable bolts & washers commonly used on e30's. apparently a ball ache to adjust but is prolly the way forward

Used to be a very well known quality wheel manufacturer. Up there with BBS in the late 80's.
For any of those old enough, they used to sponsor a F1 team, Orange cars, can't remember which team.....
