Off skiing to Southern Poland at the end of March and driving my E61 over there for the first time. Driven there twice a year for the last 12 years in other cars (98 Escort, 05 Astra Cabriolet and 04 Vectra Estate). Never felt the need to change the tyres for the trip and never had any trouble in summer (+40c) or winter (-35c). Now with this being my first rear wheel drive car and on 19" rims I'm considering changing them for the conditions that will be in the mountains.
Option 1: Replace all tyres with winter tyres. Will the rims be up to it and what sizes/brands to go for?
Option 2: Buy another set of wheels with winter tyres already on. What are the best wheels to get?
We will be going over again in the summer and winter.
Any recommendations/help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
