Hello everyone, I recently brought my diesel 520d second hand and it currently has around 120,000 miles on the clock. I have been told that the DPF filter can be a bit dodgy at times and looking online there are a few ways I can deal with this. I do not want it removed as I'm aware of the health effects of what the filter catches, nor am I willing to pay some of the prices I've seen quoted online in the region of one or two thousand for a new DPF (I haven't been able to find the price for a new filter for my make). I plan to either buy an aftermarket DPF or have the Ceramex process that HonestJohn suggests on his site.
I was wondering if anyone has had an aftermarket fitted, or the original cleaned with the Ceramex process? My interest is primarily in the quality of aftermarket goods seeing as there are ones for £280 however the cleaning itself seems about that, but I get to keep the part made by BMW.
