Can you please help to get INPA working properly with my car. I'm in urgent need to get the diags. working so i can foremost read DPF errors and clear them.
The DPF has possibly become blocked & i want to force regen as last ditch before forking out money i don't have for new DPF. The car is not in LIMP mode as yet so i believe i can force it to auto regen.
I have an X3 E83 LCI (facelift: 09/06: 1st Reg 01/07) with M47N2 engine. I have the OBD cable by BMcables and INPA 5.02 software.
I have been to two garages with two different diagnostic machines and both showed error codes: Particulate filter system filter overloaded (code 480A-481A). I understand that until these errors are removed the car will not auto regen. I have replaced the failing thermostat that caused the DPF not to auto regen in timely manner.
I have managed to successfully install INPA and communicate with the car but cannot get it to the section i require to view/clear errors. I'm using Windows 7 x64.
When I select E83 > Engine script: 'DDE 5.0 for M47 new'
I get an error message:
Requested Control Unit: 'D50M47B1,D50M47A..' etc not found. Control unit found: 'D60M47A0'
I have tried all other engine scripts and only MS 45.0 fo M56 initiates without error in German but than doesn't mainly work when selecting options.
I have tried to get to error codes section by selecting E83 >BODY>Central Body Electronics >Errors. This shows zero errors which i believe to be incorrect as confirmed by two different garages with different machines.
Do I need to install additional engine script files (DM60M47A0??) for my engine or make changes to some script file to be able to communicate via engine script ?
I have been told that my car is possibly early D-CAN adopter & that the cable i have purchased will not work with it.
Do you know if the cable is suitable for my car & if so what i need to do to get it to work properly ?
I'm at a loss and have asked many for help & was recommended to try FAL. I hope you can help.
