looking at coding a few more things on my car (E39) and want to use NCS i currently use a modded vag com cable with INPA which works great but won't work in NCS because of the ignition and battery sensing, i also want the lead to be able to with a late 2008 E61 which i believe is D can instead of K can i could be wrong there.
can anyone recommend a lead that will work with both E39 E61 and allow coding using NCS? what is the best version of INPA to use with both vehicles?
i am looking at retrofitting High OBC on my E39 i have done some research and using a secondhand instrument cluster i will need to do the following:
when using a used cluster it will have the VIN for a different car and the DSC light will come on, the tamper dot will come on also
to get round the vin issue i have read that it cannot be done with any BMW dealer software only PA Soft after the VIN has been rewritten the cluster can then be coded as if it were a new cluster the mileage also needs to be set to zero or the correct amount. if set to zero when it is plugged into the car it will get the mileage from the LCM as the VIN's will match and the tamper dot shouldn't illuminated.
after this id need to copy the ZCS file from the EWS onto the cluster using NCS expert.
something thats crossed my mind is if i go and plug the used clocks into mine with the incorrect mileage on will it change the mileage in the LCM to the wrong amount? i have to plug it in so then i can code the cluster with PA Soft and change the VIN and mileage etc
can anyone recommend a PA Soft setup I've seen this on ebay is it any good?
