    Turboing 318is

ok i was planning on doing a m52 turbo but whist looking at cars to break online found a 318is

so i was thinking how hard to turbo the m42 engine would be taken out and put into my vert

found manifolds on ebay but i just don't see how it would fit doesn't seem to be alot of room on

@Nugget747 - It isn't too hard! There's not much room in my engine bay either, but i managed to do it
Which manifolds were you looking at? As that's the first step, the whole project will depend on what manifold you use.
Speaking of manifolds, as far as i know there are 3 ways fit a turbo in the M44/M42 engines
    - Under the steering column (similar to my set-up)
    - Above the steering column, resting on the suspension strut tower (a relocation of the coil pack will be required)
    - Lastly, the manifold would have 'extended' pipes to allow the turbo to sit in 'front' of the car (behind the headlights), However..... the Washer Jets bottle will need to be relocated...

@Emil, IIRC i think he wants the whole car gone in one piece or else he'll keep it for a bit longer. @Prince , what do you think ?

To answer this. If the car does not sell then yes I will start stripping bits. I will have a lot of very high quality parts going so you'll need to let me know what you want. Be warned though, even second hand the 'charger won't be cheap. I haven't decided on an exact price yet but expect it to be somewhere around 2000 (but no more).
