The local BMW indy sent me a letter last week, they have a car in that might interest me they said, so went down and had the car for an hour to ride around in, took it home and the Mrs said dont buy it before I get a new car.
The car was a Z3M coupe.
I really liked it, sort of more like my E30 M3 than like the E46 M3.
First impressions were, it's a nice place to be sat in, the orange and black seats, the orange dash and steering wheel inserts were NASTY.
I aint anywhere near as fast as a E46 M3 but it handles well, doesn't light the tyres up like the E46 either.
This one was described as really good with low miles at 64k, but it hadn't been seeing much TLC for a long time, It needed new rear screen, offside rear window, exhaust tips, bonnet respray and front bumper respray, some of the interior leather trim was fubar'd too, this was to get the car mint, it need some trim parts and a good head unit.
Worst bit was the rust, there was a lot of it, to be honest you can't cure rust you can just slow it down, so going by that the only way to cure it is to cut it out it then needs a slam panel and a nearside front inner wing, there was a 3" by 1/2" rust patch that had pushed the paint off on the n/s/f wheel arch which is part of the bonnet.
I hadn't looked under the car so god know if that is rusty too, the front strut tower where it joins the inner wing had rust holes in it at the front and all the panel mastic was missing on the n/s/f.
I would have one saying that, but not that one, it also han a S50 power plant, I'd want the S54 newer model with traction and more speed, and a complete black interior.
The guy also said if I wanted it it'd be my E46 M3 and £3k, I wouldn't have straight swopped it with all that rust
Very pretty car though, but I thought it might be too small and make me look a cock driving it, the E46 is the perfect sized car for me, so I'll keep it for now.
