i am looking at getting an x3,i know there are issues with diesels. dpf's, swirl flaps, cleaning out egr's, turbo's.
Can you give me some advice on what to do to make these diesels reliable. I am thinking remove the swirl flaps, then clean out the egr (or you it be better to bypass the egr? have a good long run every couple of weeks for the dpf.
the later 2ld had 177bhp so that's an option. but I have heard the 2l diesel has issues with the timing chains is that correct. whats best to make sure I don't have them issues. can the 177bhp diesel be tuned a bit more as a fuel saver map with a bit extra power, would it be worth it? or is it 177bhp because it already has a more power map from bmw?
any advice please.
