So found an ad that caught my eye its for an estoril blue (best colour in my own opinion) 3.2 vert but I'm really in a bit of faff about it i'll give the run down about why,
My other half spoke to the guy on the phone really nice guy sounds genuine so I'm not putting the advert up as I don't want people getting the wrong impression and bugging him,
so in the Ad he states the car had a brand new engine and gear box put in by BMW at 30,000 miles (got all the receipts to show the work 11k worth) and because of this the car is showing 104,000 on the clock that's body mileage but the truer engine milage is 72k,
and this is where the first problem comes it had a private plate on at some point so the mot check history doesn't come up for the original reg that's on the car now but to be fair he gave me the private plate reg so I had a look at the history the mileage reads like this starts at 2005 onwards,
111,000 (9th april 2013),
94,000 (18th april 2013),
98,000 (23rd april 2014) Anti-lock braking system warning lamp does not illuminate reason for failure,
94,000 (30th april 2014),
94,903 been slowly creeping up until this one in 2015,
now in 2016 its got 104,000 showing on the clock he did say to my other half at some point the entire speedo cluster died so its had a whole new one hes got all receipts and a full service book showing all stamps and a folder full of all and any work on the car so the historys pretty full apart from why the engine got replaced.
Now the other thing I could see as a problem its had 10 previous owners I would be the 11th is this a big problem nowadays with cars like this future resale etc etc.
Comes with a hardtop but the soft top is like new and works perfectly never been in an accident all electrics work interiors in decent condition hes got the full logbook so no waiting for a logbook change because of the reg or any nonsense like that it had rust starting on the front wing arch so he got it redone professionally got receipts and its been done to a high standard.
The car looks stunning in the pictures and if it drives as solid as he says it shouldn't give me any issues but at £7.5k itll be the most expensive car ive ever bought it will also be my dream car ive wanted an M3 for a very long time so I want to make sure I get it right.
So with the things ive highlighted the mileage (not it being high just the different amounts on test day) and the amount of owners (10) would you entertain it at that price and go see it or keep my little (and I mean little lol) pot of gold and hope something else comes onto the market.
I think my big problem is I'm not used to buying this sort of car at this sort of price so I'm looking for a bit of input thanks very much.
P.S @Plumb know the e36 isn't really your thing but you've got experience in this kinda market if you could have a little read and let me know what your thoughts
Thanks for reading guys
