Have you tried unplugging the maf to see if that stops the hesitation? If not try that, next step is getting the fault codes read

I would check for an airleak Check the rubber boot just after the MAF as it is fairly common for it to split and more air will get in causing flat spots. Also check all inlet hoses for airleaks. After that try unplugging the MAF, if hat is ok then get the fault odes read

MAF checks how much air is going into the engine, if it is duff then you will experience poor running. I would check for an airleak first personally cause many will replace the MAF,at expense, only to find the problem persists because it is an airleak. If it is a dodgy sensor then it will show up if you get a diagnostics done

Try unplugging the maf first if you can't see any air leaks
