    Help identifying oil pipe E46 1999 323i

I was under the car at the weekend to locate a odd rattle noise? (fixed that it was a broken bracket on top of the exhaust pipe)

However whilst under the car i noticed oil all over the power steering pump! i followed the oil covered pipe up, it seems to attach near by or on the oil filter housing (this is the end where the hole is)

The other end of the pipe connects to the top of the sump next to where the dip stick enters the sump. I presume that this is just a breather pipe?

What part number is the pipe i need please?

Looks like a pig of a job due to lack of space.

    Thanks Steve

have a butchers on realoem.com at the component microfich pages ya may be able ta clarify which one is leaking and go from there..

hit the change view " images drill down" button after yav hit the browse pages button at the top as its easier to navigate by pictures instead of text to what ya lookin for...

note: tho the vanos oil feed pipe is also known to leak and is the filter area as is the main gasket on the filter to block casting......

ide suggest power washing it too and observe any fresh oil leaking....

    Amazing speedy help thanks chaps

That is a very useful web site and on looking at the pictures i am 99% sure it's the crankcase breather pipe number (4) Part number>11151437641 or 11157532649?

    Two different part numbers?

The first part number has been superseded. The one ending 649 is the current one....
