Que? The Manta had very little success and won bugger all, the only thing I remember them winning was a Safari Rally and not surprising given that the technology was ancient even back then .

UR Quattro, Peugeot 205, Lancia Delta, Metro 6R4 etc- they were proper rally cars.

Yep it was probably the best RWD but came on the cusp of 4wd quattro and 6R4 and RS200, and when you look at the running gear, barring the head it was all pretty much off the shelf parts bin running gear, but years after group B was banned it turnd in good results against it's competitors in the things like circuit of Ireland, I think, merely because it was simple and quite reliable

Never liked the Manta, look sort of ok as long as it wasn't white colour coded, the met grey ones looked better, but they drove nasty, the last one I drove was in the early 90s and it felt old and shit then, not even as good as a Capri

Then you probably drove one someone had lowered. Double wishbone front suspension and 4 link back end as standard (3 plus panhard rod) and no leaf springs made it light years ahead of Capri handling out of the box.

Stepping out of my 1991 Manta into the 328 was no great change. Sure absolutely everything but the gearbox is better but ticks all the same boxes

Is this the one when that guy drove into a load of people watching and killed them?

    Was a bloody good program.
