Be interesting to watch. That video in the link is on here too. Not only BMW's but virtually most modern cars are at risk. Need to have a tracker fitted and a decent steering wheel lock now to put people off....

To all intents and purposes law abiding citizens are sheep and the theives are Hyenas. There isn't much you can so except play the odds because you are the weakest link.

For exmple you could have biometrics on your starting but do you really want to make the end of your thumb worth 50K to someone else?

So instead of newer cars being better at security, they actually become "easier" to steal than old cars ? That doesn't make sense does it?

I know some BMW's do get stolen, but it's very suprising to see the latest ones involved also.

    Crazyness!

Did you see those toe rags take the 1M, fookin brazen bastids the security light didn't even faze them

Secondary theft deterrent was recommended like a steering lock or wheel clamp, ffs how much of a backward step is that

If anybody is worried about this and has a BMW fitted with CAS 2 or CAS 3 (2006-2011), take your car down to your local BMW dealer and ask for the SOPT-enabled CAS firmware update. It stops these guys dead in their tracks...

I read it on the news. It's crazy! Apparently you can buy the kit off eBay!

BMW have known about the car access system module vulnerability since last year and never bothered to tell owners about it. I reckon they would have taken proper notice if cars started dissappearing from their dealer forecourts
