Are you constantly thinking about all the work that your car needs?

I've just been looking through the memebers rides thread and everyone's car seems to be in better nick than mine at the moment!
Do any of you guys feel like it's a never endind battle to keep your car in good condition?

What I can think of off the top of my head that needs doing not that I want to do is this:
    Service
Urgently need to replace brake pipes
Handbrake is shocking - guess I need new shoes
Both arches rusted through need replacing
Front splitters are manky at best - need repainting
Front bumber has a hairlin crack above the splitter where it has caught
Gearsticktop is badly worn needs replacing
    BMW Badges corroded
Wheels are kerbed (being replaced thanks seb!)

Even worse when I write it down sounds like a shed!! It looks good from a distance and is mechanically sound, just seems like I need to throw cash it all the time!!

So come on guys are your cars all as mint as they look? Or have you got a list of things that need doing?

Don't worry, mine is cosmetically worse than yours! I might sell it as 'spares and repairs' when my ideal car comes up for sale......or just turn it into a 'Rat' BMW lol

Yea my list is similar to yours but most the things are things only you know about people still comment on my car and look at it but I know that
Both rear arches have just started to bubble a bit if you look closely
The wheels are in need of a refurb
It also needs a service soon
The boot has a 5p size rust bubble starting
My leather door card has bubbled in the hot weather
My drivers side of the bumper is cAble tied on in need of a new bracket.

All things that bug me becuase I know about them

Don't worry mate, my cars not too dissimilar to yours.

Only thing thats not wrong compared to yours is my handbrake, brake pipes and servicing are all good for the moment. But, most of the bushes underneath are starting to look a little ropey.
My intention, is in about 3 weeks time remove the car from the road for the winter, and do all the work. Replace every bush, including engine & gearbox mounts, respray front bumper and replace wings

Yeah like all said, your car seems better. Mine always needs something! it's true money whore lol. with it being a 17yr old e36, most of the money is spent mechanically & sorting out corroded parts

You might think you have a small list of things to do, trust me i got three A4 pages of a shopping list of bits & bobs to get! She's more spoilt than the lady & the house

I barely think about anything other than my rusty front wings. Both of them, pretty badly rusted / bubbled / holes in the paint.

They need a full replacement really but that's way more money than I can lay my hands on anytime soon, and certainly won't be able to do it till the kitchen / upstairs carpet and living room are finished or the wife will have my balls for ear rings!

I've got some touch up paint to bodge it for now, but it's a fairly big area and i reckon i'm gonna need to sand the paint off to treat the rust, then paint it and it's gonna look cack done with a brush.

But like i say, zero money to spend on it.

    Bad times. :(
Yeah yeah, I'll fix my Sig soon......
