    2002 e39 530i sport

Took one out for a spin today and it was fully loaded with the tiptronic gearbox and the best drivers car ive ever driven bmw wise and probably ever, effortless performance and comfort and specd to the hilt and was very very impressed and in my favorite colour of black too.

NOT M3/M5 FAST BUT A WHOLE LOT MORE COMFORTABLE AND VERY NICE IN MANUAL MODE TOO

AWESOME CAR AND CAN SEE WHY SOME CALL IT THE BEST BMW EVER MADE AND A PITY THE ONE I TOOK OUT WAS ALREADY SOLD AS IT WAS LICENCE LOSING QUICK ON A PRIVATE TEST ROAD

Fantastic cars Andy, recently sold the one below and if it had been a bit newer I'd have been tempted to keep it.

Wouldn't call them license losing quick but probably feels like its got a hell of a lot more poke than your 323.

Please dear god don't slam it with big wheels as it will ruin it. Just enjoy it and waft along in it.

This would be a nice steer all be it ridiculously over priced.

"Stance" (n): Term used to describe a car so low to the ground it scrapes, very easy to accomplish requiring no imagination or skill

The only reason I rid the m5 is the fuel issue everything else was more than perfect.

Best all rounder bmw made imo, the 528i is good as well with the manual gearbox

And you can easily get 210hp with the m50 manifold on the early ones which is enough for most

Next car for us when the mrs gets fed up of the e34 or it dies a death...or maybe before that lol

    Go for it Andy

    Go for it!
    I did...
Bought a 2000 528i a few months ago, M-sport pack and a load of other extras.
Couldn't make up my mind if I wanted the M5 or the sensible choice 530d.
I thought with my head rather than heart, and couldn't justify the M5 fuel costs as my daily driver and leant towards the diesel.
However upon looking for a half decent example, came across a fine example of a manual 528i, about 2000 cheaper than the diesel models I was looking at with similar spec and thought "2 grand goes quite far towards fuel for a few years" forget the depreciation, I'm go into run this car until it dies...

I've had easily a dozen e36's in the last decade, ranging from a 318i estate that my missus still uses every day, to a few 328's and the 328i I'm currently turbocharging... The big 5 puts a real big smile on my face every day, because it's soooooo comfortable, pretty quick, actually surprisingly economical (37 mpg on the motorway when I picked it up, 24mpg round town)
    I'd recommend one
