    Forum Members - Private Work?

    Hi Folks,

Not posted on here for a while.

What I am after is recommendations or a hands up from members who would be willing to do private paid work. Not major items, but I am talking things like small mods / checks, etc like CDV removal, brake renewal and minor service items when needed.

I find it really had to find a good garage who will do a good job at the right price and do not have the space, tools and expertise to start.

All well using Indies / dealers for service etc, but I just cannot seem to justify paying hiked up garage prices. I know some will say that comes as part of the cost of owning a BMW - so please refrain from any such comments!
So....if anyone is local to me, who happens to have the space and tools and is willing to / already does private work (paid of course!) then please let me know! I'd be willing to travel reasonable distances.

    Cheers

I use a brillaint guy called Kev business name BM Wizard - he's in North Wales though near Wrexham, my parents live up that way so can combine visits.
If you can get up there for a job lot it makes sense though as he is so cheap!!

I'm not far from you and would also pay someone who knew what they were doing to do minor stuff as I don't even have a drive and wouldn;t know where to start!
Save me the trip just for oil changes etc

Maybe time to get a haynes manual and start gathering some tools. Basically if you can change a wheel you almost all the skills you need to change brake pads

Nope, not worth investing in tools, that I would also need to find storage for and there is no telling how long I would keep the car for, but whilst I have it, I always like to give it the best attention and service as possible.

I already mentioned that space is an issue for actually doing the work.

Simple jpbs like changing pads take no more space than the car is in parked and the only additional essential tool is the big allen key to undo caliper which is about 8 but personal choice rules.
