    Quick MOT question.

My MOT is due tomorrow and as as some of you know from the rant thread I've still got a few jobs to do to ensure it'll pass. However due to me being a numpty and loosing some parts which I've had to reorder, I'm not going to be able to take it for the test until next week.

Question is - Do I need to tell anyone that my hasn't got an MOT (as of tomorrow), similar to SORN and tax? Or am I ok just to leave it in my garage until I take it for the test?

Parked off road until pre-arranged MOT where you must arrange in advance and make sure they write down your reg. That is the only time the car can be on the public highway without an MOT but if stopped you are still liable for any defects an officer may note.

If in doubt phone your garage or look at direct.gov.

Thanks I'll do that. It's my mates garage so I'll get him to book it in for next Saturday. I should have plenty of time to sort it then

Surely I have the freedom to choose which garage I take it to for an MOT?

And just to reiterate, I'm not going to be driving the car at all until next Saturday when I drive it to its pre-booked MOT test.

    Starting to loose faith now

Just checked the n/s ABS sensor and it looks fine with everything connected ok, but the ABS ring looks corroded so it seems that could be the culprit and is causing my warning lights.

To top it off my mechanic mate who is going to do the MOT has just told me that the dodgy bearing is a failure which means I'm gonna have to get them sorted too!

Luckily I've got some good mates and GavGTD has just agreed to donate some of his precious time to help me (oh and thanks for listening to me bitch and moan on the phone )
