    When you guys switching to winter wheels?

    Yo dudes

    Just noticed ive nearly wore out another set of rear tyres (god damn 535 ) but dont want to put new boots on as the winter wheels are ready to go just wondering when you guys are gonna start putting your cars to winter spec?

    It's still a bit warm for me to contemplate fitting them yet - generally below 8 degrees in the day or regular frosts/ice and I swap - mine are ready to go too....

    Erm, never. Never felt the need to to be honest, I am due some new tyres those will do the job

    I stuck some vredestein all season tyres on my wife's fiesta - bit of an experiment really but believe it or not they should suit all four seasons with a higher silicone content to enable driving in colder temps and a tread patter suited to rain or snow.

    They perform well so far in temps that are quite high and rain etc. It's going to get colder from this weekend.....

    But they will wear out a lot quicker in this warmer weather - optimum is below 8 degrees....

    yes that's the downside - but I love her and we all love an experiment - if I get one day to look as if I have special skills in the snow it's worth it.

    Plus they aren't dedicated winter tyres so the wear rate won't be as bad as if they were.
