I think there was a thread about something like this the other day. IIRC they made the E36 in South Africa after they stopped in Europe.

First the engine is 316. (I've seen way too many 4 pot engine bays to tell the difference). If it has a coil pack outside then it's 1.6 (M43 or M43TU)
The wheels are off E46
But yes it's a W reg. Late registered.

That is a heap! It's a 1.8(listed as one from the reg too). Not been looked after at all!
