A useful way to save money on fuel

A lot on here spend a lot of money on fuel as is obvious from the recent “how much fuel do you use in a month” thread, I’ve been looking at ways to get something back..

Considered the Shell Drivers Card, using only Tesco and having a club card etc anyway the best option I have found is to pay for fuel on a cash back credit card – best one by a way is Santander 123 card which offers 3% cash back on all fuel purchases. If you spend a lot could be useful, you can see it her

Compare Cashback Credit Cards | moneysupermarket.com

I would never advocate using credit cards if you aren’t good with money – if you are though they can be very worth while.
Hope this is useful to some of you

Agreed if you're financially savvy its one of the best out there, just one point the Santander currently has a "No Annual Fee For 12mths" offer on, after that it'll revert back to annual fee card, currently at £24/annum.

My preffered fuel, Shell, used to have their own CC which was underwritten by Citi, it also paid 3% on Shell fuel purchases & 1% on all others,
so my V-Power upgrade was virtually paid for, sadly they pulled the plug on it a couple of years ago

    Nice idea!

However I despise Santander as a company, I'll not bore you as to why, so I wont be joining.

I use shell card and have chosen the "Money off fuel vouchers" however I think in terms of the money you get back I think it's the worst. May be worth looking if the other options apply?
