    Uneven tyre wear?

I was under the car today changing the rear diff oil and noticed that my rear passenger side tyre was wearing on the inner edge and outer edge?

I keep an eye on my tyre pressures, Front=29 PSI.... Rear=34 PSI.

Tyre's are Fullrun 225/40/18..All tyre's have even wear apart from my rear passenger side!

Anyone know what is the probable cause of this?

    Thanks

Not a clue mate and would not know how to check?...I do know that the alloys are BMW MV1 (sig pic below) and the rears have a wider width?

Is it marked on the alloy wheel somewhere what the width is?

Should be on the inside (you have to remove the wheel). They're probably 9" in the rear.

Should be stamped onto the rim standard e46 staggered set up is 8j fronts and 8.5j rears with 225 width front 255 rears.

I asked incase that particular rim was a different width causing the wear, as usually your sort of wear pattern is from under inflation letting the middle of the tyre flex up easily (but can't be as your check the pressure )

If it's an appropriate tyre for the rim and geometry is standard then this is typical of underinflation.

However, what is correct inflation for normal driving may not be for load and speed so are you always carying a load or going quick?
It's always harder to judge with aftermarket wheels unless the manufacturer does some the same size.

    Hint:
If the edges have a turned up lip on each tread block a little like the E46 M3 boot spoiler then that's usually the going quick

Checked wheels today and the rear wheels were mixed! Passenger rear was 8.5j but the drivers side was 8j!

I have now swapped wheels round so I now have 8js front and 8.5js at the rear...

Could this of been the cause of rear uneven tyre wear?

And also can the rear camber be adjusted cheers

What you want to do is get it tracked professionally as you won’t get it with in the correct parameters.

If you got a high performance garage that can do it with a Laser/Hunter - You will be better off (No more uneven tyre wear) The Major cause I have been informed is “Toe” Camber is not that bad as I run minus 3 on the rear with no uneven wear on Toyo’s Proxes 4

Fullrun can be prone to uneven wear as well... - I run 36PSI all round - I find my car don’t like PSI under 34.

    Uneven tyre wear?

To be honest I'd count my blessings at having an excuse to get shot of the Fullruns. Awful tyres - my 330 was a total dog when I bought it. Swapped them out for Falkens (not a lot more money iirc) and all was well. Get the setup done too though while you're at it.
