118D M Sport test drive. Thoughts......

Firstly, this thread isn't 'look at me, look what I can do, I'm better than you, my dads tougher than your dad'. Just simply my opinion but an explanation at first.......

So, with me finishing my training scheme at work my Peugeot 207 HDI will be going back at the end of its 2 year lease which finishes mid January. Thankfully my new role at work means that if I can build a 'need case' due to the business mileage that I do, I can have another car. This time I get to pick though So BMW leant me this for 3 nights / 2 days. Been up to Retford in Nottinghamshire today and flung it round a few fun roads near me. Gotta say I really like the little thing. I was expecting it to be good, but a little under powered as its the 118D. I'm however pleasantly surprised. Stick it in Sport+ and it shifts. Seating position is good and you can even adjust the seat bolsters to hold you in which is nice. It's good to see that the centre of the dash is still slightly angled towards the driver. The centre console is also raised a little so your in your own little cockpit I've narrowed it down to this and a Mini Cooper SD with the JCW kit, wheels and a fair few gadgets on it and the 118D M Sport was like a back up. The Mini gets delivered for me to test drive Tuesday but its got some tough competition now.

Just to note. I would be ordering it with leather, 3 doors and in Estoril Blue.

What do you guys think of the little one series? Personally I don't like it in its standard form but the M Sport I like the look off.......

Personally I'd be looking at an Octy VRS although I guess you're looking from a tax perspective also?

    Completely different car though...

For the miles that I'd be doing it has to be a diesel really. I'm not ready to grow up yet so I would also prefer a hatch back. The missus had a little Skoda Fabia 1.2 TSI Monte Carlo Edition as a loan car and it was really nice, fast, and good quality. Trouble is you almost sat on it rather than in it.

And yeah we're taxed on company cars as well as having to contribute a little if we want something fancy and extras......

I'm certainly not the biggest new 1 series fan, I suspect that's because I haven't got used to face lift yet rather than anything really upsetting with its design.
It does look more purposeful in M Sport guise plus if the interior is ticking your boxes then why the hell not?
I'm off to Google Estoril blue F21 (?)

I don't really like the look of the 3 door, the coupe looked good though IMO.

If you like it, get it
