Cree 5W High Power Reverse bulbs fitted- with pics :thumbsup

@Sam1832 was kind enough to jumble sale his 18 SMD number plate LEDs to me.

    Here they are fitted
    -img_2370-jpg

Pic doesn't do justice. They are very very bright and look white with a slight tint of blue.

I then got thinking about the poor OEM reverse bulbs. They are fairly dim and are a bit yellow. I also find it a bit difficult to see out the back sometimes on dark streets so thought about upgrading my bulbs.

I did a bit of research and found these bad boys
    2 x CREE Q5 5W HIGH POWER LED P21W 1156 382 BA15s STOP TAIL REVERSE BULBS BMW | eBay

Although they appear to be a bit pricey (circa 20 for a pair) they had got some good reviews and some people experienced dramatic before and afters.

    For example

They arrived a few days later (today). This is what they look like up close

    -img_2352-jpg

As you can see, they are pretty high quality and even have a projector lens fitted

Here they are vs. a regular OEM bulb

    Quick test during fitting

So, onto some before and afters

    -img_2353-jpg
    -img_2368-jpg

    -img_2357-jpg

Do they make it easier to see out the back? Certainly!

    Thanks for looking

    Nice looking good

A bet you can see loads better going backwards now

Yes those number plate bulbs are very good, the light in reality is a lot more even than in the pic

Looks like a pretty significant improvement Johann.
TBH when thinking of upgrading bulbs I only ever think about the headlights, as do most people I expect.
Just goes to show that there are some worthwhile gains to be made elsewhere.

Both sets of new light bulbs make a massive difference Johann, those Cree reversing bulb are nearly as bright as @ABM s spotlights he's fitted on his Tank

Those reversing bulbs look really good, I also find that the stock ones are poor.
    But 20 a pair

Nope, just turn the key until the ignition lights come on, stick it in reverse and take a pic
