So I have my car almost 4 years now - had an oil service today - little report with it saying everything as it should be tyres, discs, pads. £159 at local dealer, cup of coffee, pleasant experience.
Put my foot down on the way back - easy, safe, fast, comfortable driving.
That's the thing with these cars it's comfortable and easy to live with - in my trade I look at useability, look and feel, functional flow and this car ticks the boxes and it's 10 years old.
No annoying reflections in the screen from badly thought out dashboard design/ materials. No broken seat mechanisms no snapped off switches/ stalks, broken buttons.
Easy to access use rear seats - no annoying sounds, no high revving engine just good noise, no rattles or loose trim, no driving fatigue, no luggage space shortages.
Okay nothings perfect and some small niggles such as tendency to rust away prematurely - sorted at my cost but these small issues are forgiveable given the overall package and, importantly, cost second hand.
Not often I own a car for this length of time without craving a change and this one has already easy paid back its purchase price. Which was £6k four years ago
I know some don't rate the E46 but do the new cars hold up aswell or are they even better?
