Well I've got to the point with my project where I'm not sure which route to take next...
My 328i turbo project is now up and running, I've had some fun with her - done a few sprint races etc. and now I'm wondering what's the next step.
I started this project to see how difficult mechanically it is to turbocharge a 328i - the answer... quite.
There's not really much further I can go with the car mechanically, it only really needs cosmetic work - which isn't my area of expertise at all.
I can see myself throwing more and more money at her to make her all shiny and looking fresh - where she'll most likely just sit in my garage gathering dust.
(Where I live in Guernsey just isn't the place to really use this car - it's simply too fast a car to use on a small Island with a 35mph speed limit.)
So I'm now in 2 minds; do I keep her and throw hundreds, if not thousands of pounds tidying up the bodywork
- and still she'll sit in my garage; only coming out for a local charity race event maybe once or twice a year...
Do I sell her?
I'd like to start a new project (got something special in mind )- but don't have the space unless I find a new home for her.
I don't think I could bring myself to break her and sell off the parts, but I did consider selling her as a 'turbo conversion kit' wrapped in a car...?
"ALL the parts you need to convert your own 3 series coupe into a 400+BHP forced induction weapon - fully working, just swap the parts piece by piece..."
I realise I'll never get all my money back - but I knew that was never going to happen when I started the project.
Your thoughts please...
