Just to prove a point and provide a fine example of the damage that can be caused by broken swirl flaps, here are a few pictures that I took today when carrying out the blanking procedure on an E46 320d earlier this morning!

Just to clarify that broken flap is in fact not even from that port!!

Somehow it had broken off, however instead of ending up in the cylinder it had somehow managed to come backwards into the manifold before falling into an adjacent port jamming the swirl flap in that port totally shut!

So lucky that it didn't end up causing untold engine damage!

I've told the owner exactly how lucky she is and the relief on her face said it all!

Despite the high cost of living, It remains popular!

Never bullshit a bullshitter, they'll just bring you down to their level and trash you with experience!

A mate of mine recently admitted that he was a brake fluid addict! When I quizzed him about it he insisted that he could stop any time.
