I purchased my first 5 series (E60 520d 2005) back in August as this time I was going to spend more money than I normally would for an older used car I done the "right" (stupid ) thing and went to a local car dealer. The carhad some small scratches and dings, but I was happy with it and I tried to cherish it as much as possible. After changing small bits and pieces, getting a full buff and polish etc. I thought I cant be happier. Then things got rapidly worse. Aircon, IBS sensor, Heather Blower + few more issues that the dealer forgot to mention that these things are not working right or at all.
I went through a month of arguments, stress and I had no car for over 3 weeks (stealer had it to fix the hidden faults) after a month later and no fix the stealer gave my money back. To make this story happier I went and I found "The Change" in lights of another BMW E60 525d (private sale this time). This car was probably my best decision I ever made. The Change compared to the old car is amazing. Went from Grey used leather seats to Black pristine heated leather seats, from 6" screen to 8" Navigation with Bluetooth and SOS BMW, from basic air distribution system to advanced system + Head up Display (HUD) and even folding mirrors. All this finished by moving to year younger car and 20k miles less and dark grey color of the car with 18" alloys.
This may sound like a show of, but I wanted to point out that changes are happening and if you really try, you can reach for your dreams. I was dreaming to get this spec and kind of BMW for long years. Now Its parking in my garage and the key is sleeping in my pocket. And I know that I will try to give this beemer as much TLC as possible during his journey with me. And another thing. So far every single car I purchased from a private seller was great and reliable. I don't know if I ever get back an give a second chance to any car dealer.
p.s : I will get photos up on Sunday
Keep up this great community guys!
