Just sold our thirsty but trust discovery and alleys wanted a BMW, now in my 40s I wanted something old-ish and must be a tourer. So we managed to find one after some of the rubbish that is out there a 2002 3 series 320d
Lovely car and especially the ride, ok it's not got the 4x4 of the Landy but beautifully to drive.
Have been working through the list of things and first was to remove swirl flaps which I did and was lucky as all 4 were rattling around loose.
Being surprised by the condition of the flaps I had no choice but to deflap and put the spindles back in.
So far all is good. Getting rear brake lines replaced on the 11, bimmer already has new turbo, discs and shoes all round lower wish bone bushings and arms.
Car is lush thou, very happy, going to under seal when good weather returns, managed to epoxy paint the battery tray area to save rust coming through, yesterday washed and cleaned all four wheel arches and brakes and mountings, applied under seal to chassis areas, brake calibers cleaned sanded and painted gloss black, new front brake lines and hoses,
