I am about to get myself back into the World of BMW after driving past the Carlisle Dealership last Friday and spotting a rather nice 16 plate X3 sat in their forecourt.
However, on going back to said dealership on Saturday morning to make enquiries and have a closer look I found another white X3 inside the showroom and it looked absolutely stunning, but had a price tag £7500 more expensive than the one sat outside.
The dearer model has a mountain of options fitted which includes the smoke grey 20" wheels and they look the business against the white body, I bought it within 15 minutes of stepping through their doors.
Having a private plate on my present vehicle I had to do the DVLA retention certificate thingy which comes up on the screen as soon as the debit card has coughed up £80, the same document shows what registration goes on the present car when the private reg is removed.
As it is Easter weekend, the changeover process is hindered a little, but I might just have the new machine on the road by this coming weekend???
I was driving past that very showroom one Tuesday morning in 2010 when I spotted a lovely 3 series in the showroom, I turned back and told the same as present salesman to keep it for me and I would return the following Saturday and pay for it, on arriving on Saturday I found another guy bringing a brand new M3 into the showroom and I bought the M3 instead.
So I will be driving my new pride and joy in a few days time, all being well, and despite approaching the age of 69, I can safely say that I am excited!!!
