    New 328i Owner, Tracktoy.

    Hi all,

    A bit of an introduction, I am Suj from Birmingham.

    I had a S14a 200sx which I bought near standard and did soooo many mods to be used on track, it was great fun, was really quick and handled good, but I missed Naturally Aspirated power! (As it was my first Turbo car, but thought i'd try it, but wasn't for me).

    I wanted an E36 M3, but insurance was not affordable (being 24years old) so I was just scouring the net when I seen a 328i for really cheap, next day I was down there and had it bought.

    I sold my 200sx yesterday, so I can now start modding the 328
    My plans are to do all the mods on this, that in the future I can transfer to an E36 M3, so will get coilovers with the mounting point for ARB's on them etc.

    I have already paid for 3.2 M3 Evo front and rear brakes, M3 BMC + Servo and Rogue Engineering rear top mounts to get me started.

    Plans are:

    * Stripped out
    * 2x buckets
    * M3 Sunflowers with potentially Federal 595 RSR's
    * M3 brakes on, with Bluestuff pads or Cabone Lorraine's
    * Cage (when funds allow)
    * Coilovers (KW's or HSD's)
    * Uprated ARB's

    Probably more little bits too, but just off the top of my head

    If anyone has some more top end coilovers for sale, drop me a PM.

    Hope you all are well

    Welcome

    Can't help but think that by the time you've declared all that work, insurance will be pretty comparable to an M3 anyway?

    Welcome suj

    Is the 328 for the track only or road use as well?

    Hi dude, thanks I can't wait to get stuck in and do all the mods, I love working on cars and have been doing so since a young age (thanks to a mechanic uncle lol).

    Hi mate, thank you

    I am with Brentacre insurance, who do insurance policies declared on power ratings, but every other mod that does not increase power is covered (as long as you ring and declare it), I have been with them for 4years, a great broker. They do not charge an admin fee neither for added mods, why I love them!
    I am very "by the book" and declare all mods etc, I need a car to get to work and back (I work at JLR in Coventry and live in Birmingham, so I have a Bora diesel) so if I lost my license, I have more or less lost my job.

    So as you can see, it is a LOT more expensive for a M3 :(

    Hi Johann

    It is going to be used on track mainly, but will be totally road legal, as I will be driving it Nürburgring (like I have my last cars) and other UK trackdays, just got back from Germany in July, here's a couple of pics of my old 200sx

    (sorry I am a pikey, I didn't buy the pics LOL )
