I found a 2005 2.0 Sport with full Honda history and 78K on the clock, hopefully pick the car up tomorrow

I will continue to do most of my miles in the 2002 1.8 Sport and get the 2005 just the way I want it over the next 6 months or so ready to take over the bulk of the miles. Im just a bit ocd and want to make sure things like all the fluids are changed, valve clearances checked and full geo is done.

Just picked the new Accord, as mentioned i'll be keeping the 6th Generation and running that as usual while sorting whatever needs doing on the 7th Generation.
Just want to get all fluids, valve clearances, discs/pads and geometry sorted in the next 6 months or so.
Only got the advert pics of the car as the weather is shockingly bad out there.

My gaffer had one of those 7th gen dervs, he always said it was a nice motor but was never happy with fuel consumption?

Yours looks nice and clean example Superman, you're certainly bitten by the bug

Think you're right as its my 3rd Accord. The diesel 7th gen was Honda's first attempt at a diesel engine and despite some recalls for cracked manifolds and some people having issues with the DMF it was a really good engine and a lot have managed over 200k miles. Most owners get 45-50mpg on average but its essential that the inlet manifold and egr is cleaned out to ensure decent economy.

I've always liked the look of these later Accords but can't get on board with the 4 pot petrols. It's a shame they didn't offer them with a nice big 6, or even () the NSX lump

No I don't think so. But high revving 4pot vtecs don't suit saloons for me either, fast as they may be.

Yes they did but only as an import called the Accord Euro R and it had a K20A 4 pot from the DC5 Integra Type R putting out 220bhp with 6 speed box and lsd

The US had the V6 engines in their Accords putting out 240-255bhp but was probably deemed too large and thirsty for the UK.
