    Plumb's 997 Carrera 2S

It's been a while coming, my project thread seeing as I bought the 997 gen 1 in February 2013.
It's had 4 different sets of wheels on in my time of ownership.
As it came to me with the wrong wheels on, gen 2 wheels

The correct wheels, gen 1 wheels

The next set of correct wheels, gen 1 wheels

The latest wheels, 997 GT3 gen 1 wheels

It's booked in in a couple of weeks for ~30mm Eibach sports line springs and a geo, so will sit better.

April/May 2013 I took the exhaust off and had an extra pipe cut/welded into the silencers to make it less quiet, it sounds normal at low revs, you don't notice any difference when cruising along, but when you start revving it there is a lot of noise difference.
The rear silencers have a blank factory welded into a third port on them, I had it joined to this port.

Looks good and nicely done, a before and after dyno would be interesting. A good squirt with galvanising spray might be worth a go

It's stainless pipework, never did a dyno I just wanted the noise not the power, it isn't as fast on track as an M3 but is a very nice place to be.

Yeah the wheels swop over but don't look right to me, watch for C2 and C4 wheels as the offsets are different.
Which model did you buy ???

Cool, they also need to do stainless wire as well and if the exhaust was not stainless it can help to protect where the welding may vaporise the current galvanising on it, looks like they live in a sheltered place anyway so probably last a decade regardless

Get some 996 turbo twist turbo wheels, they look great, 18" and really fat.
